Jazz drumming is a language.
It’s built on listening, rhythm, and feel, not rigid patterns. I believe freedom comes from clarity. By mastering the fundamentals and studying the great jazz masters, drummers gain a framework that lets them express themselves fully.
This school is here to pass on jazz tradition in a practical, authentic way, guiding students from imitation to understanding, and from understanding to developing their own personal style.
Who am I?
I’m Joannes Van Duffel, jazz drummer and teacher, trained at LUCA School of Arts in Leuven. I help students learn jazz drumming through transcriptions, and hands-on practice, guiding them from a solid foundation to expressing their own unique musical voice.
